The Hot Seat

Thirteen year old Nan Wright is navigator for her brother, Ralph, who is a rally driver. So much depends on the navigator’s skill and alertness that the job is known as the “hot seat”. One day they are on a timed rally, which means passing through control points at certain times, a penalty mark being collected for every minute late. During the run, they have to obtain certain information at various check-points to prove they have stuck to the proper route.
