Alexandra Peak —better ‘known as folk singer Sandie Abigail—was suspended from her music-teaching post at St. Bride’s College, Camford, by the disapproving Headmistress, Dr Errol.  But the Songbirds–Julie, Astrid, Toni and Brenda—a folk-singing quartet of pupils trained by Sandie, were doing their utmost to get Sandie back to St. Bride’s.
