Plot:

Mini was the amazing little car bought from an old gipsy by motor sport enthusiast Minnie Davis. ‘ Mini ‘ had an incredible mind of her own, which always baffled Minnie’s partner,  Luke Rennie, a young engineer.

Plot:

Studious Ann Harding has been persuaded by  her tomboy friend, Pat Lane, to race a vintage car to Salzburg against her cousin, Virna, and her companion, Betty Lee. The winner between Ann and Virna would gain something of advantage from their late Great-Uncle Charles’s estate. Virna has shown that she will stop at nothing to win, but Ann is mystified when the briefcase containing her maps and documents is stolen. seven passes to the prize

The Hot Seat

Plot:

Thirteen year old Nan Wright is navigator for her brother, Ralph, who is a rally driver. So much depends on the navigator’s skill and alertness that the job is known as the “hot seat”. One day they are on a timed rally, which means passing through control points at certain times, a penalty mark being collected for every minute late. During the run, they have to obtain certain information at various check-points to prove they have stuck to the proper route.

Betty’s Banger

Plot

Betty Bruce, who is crazy about cars, is sent to Risedale Boarding School, where her sister, Brenda, is a prefect. Betty buys an old sports car called Jemima from a farmer and persuades Brenda to go with her to collect it. Betty is driving Jemima across a field when she sees Miss Donkin, the prim headmistress, who, has forbidden the girls of the school to have — anything to do with Mechanical contrivances.

Sue at the Wheel

Plot:

Sue Horner worked at her aunt’s café, delivering home-made cakes to customers living in the country. Sue loved driving much more than cooking, although her aunt didn’t understand her attachment to her car “Jemima”.
