Fame

Plot

Stories based on the tv series Fame, which follows a group of students New York, performing arts school. The stories usually centered around one student at a time, Coco and Leroy seemed to be most popular characters to get stories.  In one story Coco, a dancer, has her lucky charm taken, she finds the suspect but it wasn’t stolen for the reason she thinks. In another episode, Leroy introduces the class to break dancing.

Notes

  • Based on the [1980] film and tv show of the same name, that ran from 1982-1987
  • The story was one of the additions from Tops merger with Suzy.
  • It didn’t appear in every episode as a picture story, instead sometimes it was replaced with a feature about Fame.

Dance for Me, Danny

Plot:

Unscrupulous guardians Clive and Adelaide Stephenson think they have their charge, Danny Sinclair, confined to a wheelchair by hypnosis. However, Danny is secretly entering the Ballroom Queen Dancing Contest with Polly Prentice, the housekeeper’s daughter.

Raggle-Taggle Rosie

Plot

In Victorian times, Rosie Simpson runs away from her cruel guardians – only to fall into the power of Ma Kelly, who runs a gang of child thieves. Ma Kelly uses Rosie’s talent for dancing as a cover while the other children go stealing. But Rosie is determined to find a way to escape and pursue a career in ballet.

No Music for Mandy

Plot:

Mandy Rogers had won a place at the famous Lambert School of Ballet. But when she arrives at the school, she discovers that she is going deaf. She decides to keep this secret as she is afraid that she will have to leave to school if anyone found out.

“We Want to Dance!”

Plot

Two spoilsport teachers Miss Pringle and Miss Potter were trying to put as stop to folk-dancing club at Prior’s Elm School. The girls had to dance for die school governors to prove that they were worthy to represent the school in the National Folk-Dancing Contest. The display was a disaster thanks to Miss Potter who had changed the girls,’ shoes around. Miss James who was running the club was determined to plead the girls case.
