No-One Cares for Cara

Plot:

During the eighteenth century, times were hard for Cora Thatcher’s parents and they were forced to sell their fine horse, Starlight.  Charles Beaufort, a wealthy landowner, bought the horse for his spoilt daughter, Clarissa. Because no-one else could handle the horse, except Cora, she was “bought” too.  Although the valuable horse was well fed and tended, life was grim for Cora.

Penny’s Prize Pony

Plot

Penny Marsden entered a competition to win a pony, and a second entry in her sister, Cathy’s name, to double her chances of winning. When “Cathy’s” entry won, she claimed the pony as her own. Penny was shattered but had to make the best of things when her father insisted that the girls share the pony.

Dream Pony

Plot

Teenager Sheena Shore and her pony, Taffy, had rescued Dream, a beautiful pony, from the river. Mr Bolton, the pony’s gruff owner, offered Sheena a job working with Dream and Sheena was about to go to the posh stables to start work.

Four on the Freedom Trail

Plot

IN the year 1940, Joan Clark was staying with her French relations, the Chapelles, in the Vosges district. Joan’s parents were on a scientific survey in the jungles of South America. War with Germany been declared the previous autumn, after Joan had begun her stay but in France there had been little fighting. While the Chapelles worried about the was, Joan and her cousin Monique were more preoccupied with the birth of a foal. But then the war comes closer to home whice leads Joan, Monique along with the mare Astra and foal, Orion on a long journey.

Sheena- Showjumper in Secret

Plot

Young Sheena Clark had secretly agreed to ride in show-jumping competitions under the name Pam Jones. Sheena’s guardian disapproved of show-jumping and had sold her horse, Gaylad, to Pam Jones’ father. Pam, however, was unable to handle Gaylad and had persuaded Sheena to take her place in competitions.
