Georgie and Griff

Plot

Georgie Mair had come to Camelot to attend Camelot Ladies’ College and stay with Professor Hyslop, her uncle. Georgie had brought with her, Griff,  her pet griffin—a mystical creature, half eagle, half lion. Griff had one other strange quality—he was invisible!

Plot

Clapton College needs more pupils. Head girl Di Gibson decides newcomer Rose Redd could bring the school valuable publicity because she is brainy and a natural athlete. The trouble is, Rose has a rather absent-minded way of doing things!

Merry at St Mead’s

Plot

Sheryl Barnes and Kirsty Connor at St Mead’s Boarding School unknowingly release Merry, a mischievous fairy from medieval times who had been imprisoned in a bottle for over 500 years. In addition to her mischievous nature, Merry’s lack of understanding about modern life is causing problems, such as interfering with school equipment.

The Dancing Donnellys

Plot

Canadians Jane and Joe Donnelly have been brought up in a strictly-run sect, The Children of Carona. They have to get special dispensation from their sect to pursue ice-skating careers. Then disaster strikes when Joe’s sight begins to fail, and the beliefs of their sect forbid him from seeking treatment. Their trainer, Myra Calvert, investigates the sect, and discovers it is being run by racketeers – who are now out to kill the Donnellys.

Sara’s Secret Garden

Plot

Sara Stanford is sent to stay with relatives when her parents go abroad. Sara finds it difficult living with a rowdy family because she is used to being on her own and needs some space. She finds it in restoring a rooftop garden on top of a disused department store.

The Stealer of Skills

Plot

Helen Tate and the other girls who were pupils of Madams Lamarr’s ballet school were on tour, proving Madam. Lomarr’s claim that she was bringing together the greatest, ballet company in the world. The girls did not know that their new-found skills had been transferred to them from leading ballerinas. Madame Lamarr and her assistant, Karl, made each transfer with a strange machine. Now, the brilliant new stars were a sensation, wherever they went.

Plot:

Penny Harris had been give a violin that had once belonged to a girl, Pauline Harcourt, who died of a broken heart because she couldn’t master the instrument. Pauline’s unhappy spirit seemed to want Penny to succeed where she had failed. Penny’s parents and teacher were surprised when she began playing like an expert.
