The Girl with Green Hair

Plot

Jean Kingsley is puzzled by Meryl, a new girl at Fircroft School. Meryl claims to come from the East, but her behaviour is strange, and her hair is a greenish tint that becomes more noticeable, when she is deprived of sunlight.

The Secret of Cynthia

Plot

Orphan Terry Martin is engaged as  household  help by elderly Mrs Cavendish. Terry is puzzled by the odd behaviour of Mrs Cavendish and her grim maid, Ellen, and by the fact that Mrs Cavendish seems to have chosen her more for her appearance than her abilities. Terry has a glimpse of a girl in the house who says her name is Cynthia, and she asks Terry for help, then isn’t seen again.secret of cynthia
