Plot

Fourteen year old, Rose Manson had great talent as an entertainer and mimic, and her wicked Uncle Charlie had used her to attract a crowd while, unknown to Rose, he picked pockets. Uncle Charlie was arrested, but Rose panicked and ran, and now she had arrived in Benford where she was hiding in an empty show-house on a new estate. After imitating Lady Hope-Milton’s voice, Rose got an evening job helping in a hairdressing salon.
