Plot
Lynn Saunders was spending a holiday with her great-aunt, Mrs Treverran, in a strange old cliff-top house in Cornwall. Every night, Lynn’s aunt signalled out to sea with a lamp, and waited for some mysterious person to come. Lynn was anxious to solve the mystery, but the Thorpes, Mrs Treverran’s servants, were trying to drive her away. A clue took Lynn in search of an ex-servant, Nanny Pleydell, only to find her house closed up and deserted. As Lynn was making her way back to Beacon House, a storm broke.
