Plot:
After her father died, Susan Hawthorn’s mother decided to send her to school instead of being taught by private tutors. It was proving to be a difficult task for Mrs Hawrhorn to find the right school for Susan. Susan had caught pneumonia during a climbing expedition at her last school, and her mother chose another which did not allow such rigorous pursuits—Slater Hall.
