Brand of the Wolf

After her father’s death in what everyone thought was a  hit-and-run accident while he was guarding the sheep against rustlers, Helga Whitleaf ran their farm with her Aunt Jessie. Her German Shepherd dog, Wolf, attacked Charlie Norman, a wealthy neighbouring farmer, and Helga began to suspect that the man had had a hand in her father’s death. While searching for proof at the Norman farm, she was seen leaving. Next morning, the village heard that the rustlers had struck again, and that a lamb had been found savaged to death. The villagers thought Wolf had done it.
