Plot

Visiting her only relatives, orphan Beth Bayne, discovered her aunt and uncle had left suddenly on a business trip. She was left with her cousin Carol, whom she only had exchanged a couple of letters with. Carol was being unfriendly and had some puzzling behaviour.
