Plot
Jill Danvers brilliantly clever attended St Hilda school where her cousin Marie blackmailed her into doing badly in her own lessons, while doing Marie’s schoolwork for her. Marie had a letter accusing Jill’s father of theft and Jill was desperate to try and get the letter back.

I have the ending of this serial. The letter was real. However, the letter meant nothing as her father’s old employer had been a friend to his present employer and Mr. Agate already knew about the affair and her father’s innocence. Marie is expelled and the other students become Jill’s friends again.
Thank you, Ronnie. Knowing blackmail serials, I knew it would be something on the lines of the letter not being the threat Jill thought it was and she should have called Marie’s bluff.
