Plot
By winning a chariot race, Ben-Hur gained revenge on Messala, the arrogant Roman who had been mainly responsible for the tragic circumstances of the Hur family. For years Ben-Hur has been separated from his mother and sister, imprisoned by the Romans, and now lost to him without trace. Ben-Hur is planning to lead a revolt against the Roman tyrants, rulers of his beloved Palestine, by giving support to Jesus whom he believes to be a warlike King of the Jews.
