Hello, my name’s Becky, and I’m really into rather intense, cautionary tales, that are often featured in vintage girls comics, such as Misty. I was just wondering whether anyone knows about this one-off story about a girl who plays truant and goes to the park instead, and plays on a swing that’s only meant for a child under six? She then meets a strange park warden who warns her to change her ways, then the swing breaks and when she gets home she finds that her mum’s not there, as if she’s playing truant as well.
It’s “Playing Truant”, a Strange Story that appeared in Tammy 21 November 1981, and was drawn by Ron Tiner.
