Plot

Nellie a street orphan in London in Victorian times, was given a job as a kitchen maid after striking up a friendship with the young daughter Georgina Pemberton and rescuing her when she was lost. She hoped to one day become personal maid to her friend Georgina, but found the rest of the staff, scoffed at the idea and were prejudiced against her because she came from the streets.
