FAQ:
- Where can I buy these comics?
- This is just a fansite I like to talk about these comics but I don’t sell comics on this site. There are a few places that you can find these comics, the big places are ebay and London shop 30th century comic. Check out their website here. There are a few other specialist shops, car boot sales and websites that you may get lucky with too.
- I’m looking for the name of a story?
- Happy to help if I can, but good to note the more detail you can give the better, even if its just when you would have read the story. For example “A talented girl that is mistreated by cruel relatives” could be the plot summary for many stories! The comics uk forum is also full of helpful people: http://comicsuk.co.uk/forum/index.php as well as facebook groups like “Girls Comics – UK”.
For the past few weeks, the site has been unreliable: search page results take a long time to load, it times out frequently and I have to keep entering my details, where in the past it would remember them.
Am I visiting/searching/commenting too much? 😉
Regards,
Ramon
Hi Ramon I’ve been away the past week, so haven’t checked into this yet. I’m not all up with the technical back end, I just let the web host, do its thing. Though they did recently switch servers. Hopefully just a temporary thing, I’ll look into it this weekend when I have more time and contact web hosting service if needed.
Thanks, Lorrs! Let’s hope for the best, then.
Regards,
Ramon
You reckon it’s time someone started a proper website on these foreign (particularly Dutch) translations of DCT and IPC serials? The nearest we have right now is the Translations Section on the Jinty website, which I regularly update as new information on Dutch translations appears on this site and the Jinty site. Is anyone willing to start a proper site? Or a section on this site? Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
Well, I enter my research at the specific issue on the Grand Comics Database (https://www.comics.org) and here. A third place seems a bit much.
If you think it is too much clutter?
Regards,
Ramon
Hi,
I am the artist Rodney Sutton’s daughter and would be happy to write a piece on his work for girl’s comics from the 1960’s onwards.
Let me know if you would be interested.
Hi Lesley, that would be great I’d love to highlight his work more. I’ll email you.
Apologies to anyone who had trouble accessing the site this weekend (2/3 May 2026). There was update to the nameserver, which caused it to be down for a time. Updates now complete and everything as normal again.
Until today, I haven’t been able to access this site since early February. It’s good to see it again. I don’t know why I couldn’t get to it.
I guessed it was probably some maintenance thing.
There were some issues in February, then last weekend there was some maintenance but has been accessible between that, the only thing I can think of sometimes on your own browser if there are old cache and cookies saved then it has trouble accessing updated site. Glad you are able to access now!
Hello, I’ve just found this site and through it located an annual which I had been searching for from childhood (turned out to be Diana -issue 1984). Amazing! But..I still need help locating a story which I believe must be in another annual. The plot revolved around a young female reporter who helps an old homeless woman living near the subway/metro & who gives the reporter a tip on a story that will happen the following day. Sure enough, the tip comes to fruition & the reporter gets the scoop as she ‘luckily’ was in the vicinity. She goes back to the clairvoyant woman to ask for more tips but then as her success grows, she becomes greedy and ruthless & harasses the old woman. The old lady gets her revenge at the end! It was a brilliant story & always stuck in my mind. The same annual might have had pictures on the last page of celebs of the time with bubble joke captions – I distinctly remember one was of Sting with the caption ‘I’m not getting up till I have my trousers back!’ The annual was preloved from a girl older than me – it must have been from early 80’s, possibly ’82-’86. I would be ever so grateful for some help locating it. Many thanks!
I know that story, really good one! I think it may be in Judy annual 1985. I’m away at the moment so I’ll double check my collection when I’m back.
Thank you so much. I will be waiting patiently. I still can’t believe I stumbled upon this site and the admins are so fantastic at hunting down these stories. I was asking my mother recently if she remembers the names of the annuals that were passed down to me from her friend’s daughter and she didn’t have a clue sadly.
The story is “Doom Warning!” from Diana Annual 1984. Happy to email you a scan if that would be of use.
Thank you Goof, for confirming and yes please – that would be absolutely fantastic! I’m thrilled. Could I please check if there was also a story about a young woman who visits her aunt/Godmother to stay at her big old house and she gets sucked into a time warp by touching an old replica doll’s house of the mansion which suffers a fire? Was that the same issue or another annual? Many thanks – sorry for the additional q, just so excited to finally have these much-missed stories 😉
Yes, you’re quite right, the story is “The Mystery of Dowerby Manor”, and it’s in the same annual. Would you like a scan of this story also?
I’ve asked lorrsadmin to send me your email address once she’s back home, and once I have this, I’ll send you the scans of “Doom Warning”.
I would love to have a look at these two stories from Diana annual 1984. Could you send me the scans too, please? I think you have my email.
Thank you!
Doom Warning on its way to you. Dowerby Manor will follow once I’ve scanned it.
Thank you for the scans, Goof.
Thank you Goof, that would be great, much appreciated. Happy to wait until admin is back. All best wishes to you both.
Hi I’m back now, thanks Goof for offer of scans and identifying the story, I’d forgotten it was a Man in Black story, both Judy and Diana had a lot of spooky stories in the 80s annuals. I’ve passed along the email address now.
Scans have now been sent to you, Fabiola.
Thank you so much for all your help and effort, Goof and lorrsadmin of course, I’ve got them in my inbox. Feels so strange and nostalgic to see them after all these years 🙂 What a super community this is. Best wishes.
I am looking for episodes 3, 4 and 6 of “Nina’s Nightmare World” (Tammy 7 April 1979, 14 April 1979, 28 April 1979). Can anyone help, please?
Thank you very much in advance!
Sorry I can’t help with the Tammy issues, hopefully someone else will be able to.
I am looking for episodes of “The Curse of Carmina”, Suzy #116-126. Episode synopses will help as well. Can anyone help, please?
I’ve only a couple of Suzy issues, none of that cover that story unfortunately.
