Plot

Bessie Bridges spent all her life in a Children’s home until she was sent to live with the Baxters, who hoped to adopt her. Bessie was eager to help all she could in her new home, but somehow her efforts seemed to upset the family, who saw her organisation as bossiness.

Nasty Nancy

Plot

When Nancy Norton became an apprentice artist at Haggett’s Pottery, in Victorian Times, she was dismayed by the cruel abuse of the young people who worked there. The only way she could help was to make herself a favourite of her employers, which earned her name of “Nasty Nancy”.

Plot

Only Sandra Harris knew that the ten Space Invader games supposedly sent by market research people to a selection of people in Brentown, were really mind control machines due to be activated by aliens very soon, in a bid to take over earth. Sandra set out to destroy the “games”.

Morna’s Ancient Mum

Plot

Morna Moore loved her widowed mum dearly, but when they moved to a new housing estate, she became terribly ashamed of her mum because she was old and dowdy! In fact lots of people thought she was her gran, and Morna decided not to correct them to save her own embarrassment.

Plot
