The Luck of the Lumsdens

Plot:

Four girls, Jonquil, Rose, Primula and Marigold, have to survive when both their parents die. Jonquil is an actress and is away with her company so she doesn’t knowing about her mother’s death, as Rose cannot get in touch with her. Rose leaves school but finds it hard to get a job because of her age. She also has to impersonate Jonquil whenever Mrs Forsyth, the welfare lady, comes round, otherwise the two youngest will be taken into care.

Little Nipper

Plot:

Three orphans, Flossie, Jackey and Alice find an abandoned  baby that the nickname Little Nipper.  Nipper has a locket with pictures inside that could be his parents and Flossie is determined to find them.

Polly of Paradise Row

Plot

Polly, Vicky and Albert Parkin were trying to support themselves after the death of their parents, to avoid being sent to the Town Orphanage. They were helped by their poor but good-hearted neighbours in Paradise Row.
