  1. The first series ran from issue 1 (Jan. 21 1967) to 12 (Apr. 8 1967).
    A third series ran from 724 (Nov. 29 1980) – 733 (Jan. 31 1981).

Your information above is correct fot the second series. I haven’t yet checked to see whether the second and/or the third series are repeats as I am still making my selections for the book.

  2. There is a single complete “Wendy the Winner” story in Mandy #380 (April 27, 1974). Also the number 3 series from 1980 is a different story. You have it listed on your website below this one.

  3. “Wendy the Winner” is reprinted beginning in Mandy #1081 (October 3, 1987) and ending in Mandy #1091 (December 12, 1987). Wendy’s hair is changed, but nothing else. They removed her plats.

    1. The word that you spelt as ‘plats’, Ronnie, is actually spelt ‘plaits’. According to my copy of THE NEW OXFORD DICTIONARY OF ENGLISH, the word ‘spelled’ is also acceptable.

  4. Thanks, I wasn’t sure how to spell plaits. I guessed and spell check did not say it was wrong. Spelling was my weakest subject in school.

    1. This is a longshot, Ronnie, but I have a story that might begin in this issue, s it is also dated 4 May 1968. The title translates as “The Laughing Horse” and resolves around the rivalry between a rich and a poor girl and their horses, whose names translate as Whitesocks and Jester/Clown.

Would you happen to have this issue and if so, can you check it, please? I would appreciate it mightily!

      Regards,
      Ramon

      1. Mandy #68 only has two stories starting, “Wendy the Winner” and “The Last School on Earth”. However, Bunty #537 has a story starting named “The Girl with the Laughing Horse”. However, there is no rivalry in it. Maggie Thompson worked for Mr. Sherwood and his daughter Fay. Maggie was given a horse named Clown. The horse was a great jumper when he wanted to but clowned around a lot. In one issue he jumped with no rider against a horse named White Star, but this was not against Fay. He ended up being an old circus horse and his owner came to claim him to start up his old routine again. The owner got injured where he couldn’t work so he gave him to Maggie at the end. It was started in Bunty #537 (April 27, 1968) and ended in Bunty #546 (June 29, 1968).
