  1. I knew about the PSL of this story. It’s a surprise to hear it was a remake of a serial. I wonder if this happened with other PSLs?

    1. I’ve come across a couple, another Judy story “The Gold Medal” was made into Debbie PSL “Slave of the Watch and Bunty text stories Captain Shirley and part of Cinderella of the Orphanage were adapted to PSLs.

      1. Thank you. I’ve also remembered that the Four Marys, Catch the Cat, The Comp, Invisible Isla (drawn by Douglas Perry instead of Norman Lee) and Luv, Lisa (drawn by Ron Lumsden) also had PSL adaptations.

      2. I’m not quite sure whether we’re talking here about serial stories reissued in PSL form with new artwork, or new stories in a weekly comic series which were published as PSLs. If it’s the latter, there were quite a few more. Moira Kent, Lorna Drake, Sandra Wilson, Bobby Dazzler, Valda, Wee Slavey and Junior Nanny all had what I think were new stories published as PSLs.

I must confess I thought that the Comp, Catch the Cat and Luv, Lisa PSLs were all or mostly new.

        1. Yes those mistyfan examples are cases of popular weekly characters in new stories.

I won’t share with Shirley though is reprint of story with new art and adapted to the smaller format
