Plot

Fourteen year old Serena Shaw lives with her  father and stepmother in a cottage in the  grounds of Redhill Manor. Serena’s father is head gardener on the estate and the cottage goes with the job. Life is hard for Serena, as her lazy stepmother makes her do all the work about the house and is forever picking faults.
