Flight to Freedom

Plot:

Eileen Masters, one of a team of British gymnasts, was left behind in Lobovia to look after the team’s baggage. In one of the equipment baskets she found Valerie Dimitric the star gymnast of Lobovia. The authorities had refused Valerie permission to leave the country, so with Eileen’s help, Valerie tried to escape.

The Secret Life of Spring Flowers

Plot

Thirteen year old Spring Flowers longed to be good at either ballet or athletics, like her elder sisters, May was star of ballet school and June was a promising athlete. But none of her efforts to compete with her sisters were successful. Then with the help of teacher, she discovered she had a flair for gymnastics. Used to being laughed at by her family she decided to keep her interest secret.

Plot

Two young gymnasts, Mary and Liz, at Cliffe Comprehensive School set themselves a difficult “exercise”. The girls mean to make Cliffe Comprehensive famous for gymnasts with a champion who is more interested in her looks than winning contests!

The Secret Gymnast

Plot

Kerry Price, a pupil at Bexton Academy, secretly attended Gym Club at the Comprehensive school next door. However, pretending to be a pupil at two schools had its problems, and to make matters worse, had made an enemy of Linda Green, one of the Comprehensive pupils.

Dark Days for Jo – but no one must know! / Jo’s Gym

Plot

Jo Torrance is a talented young gymnast when she begins to lose her sight  at times. She doesn’t want to tell anyone in case it ruins her gymnastics ambitions, and she get get help from her driven coach WIlson, who trains her to do her routines blindfolded.

Jo returned in a sequel Jo’s Gym where she tries to start a gym club, but has to do it in a disused warehouse in a poor area of town with makeshift equipment she has made herself.
