  1. I try not to comment on stories too much (too little time to spare!), but for this story… The plot and script are solid, but the artwork is touch-and-go. Especially the male faces sometimes almost seem elastic. Chins growing and shrinking, lumpy then skinny. Seems like a rush job!

      I haven’t examined this artist too closely but they did do a lot of stories for Bunty in the 90s and picture story libraries too, could have been some time pressures that account for the inconsistency!

      1. As well as drawing characters straight in serials for DCT during the 1990s and 2000s, the artist previously drew for quizzes and pull-outs (at IPC anyway) where their artwork was more of a caricature style. It could be this serial was one of their early efforts and they hadn’t quite shed the habit of the comic style.

        1. Also did illustrations for some text stories in the Misty annuals. Quite an adaptable artist, and I wish I knew who it was.
