Plot

Fifteen year old Caroline West, left Heathwell Orphanage to start work in a distant town.
When the bus went past Moorfield Manor, she found a some weird, compelling power drawing her to the gloomy old house. There she met Grace Eliot, a blind old lady who mistook her for someone called Gloria, and she insisted that Caroline should stay with her at the mansion. Still compelled by the mysterious power, she agreed, but before long realised that something strange was happening there. Arnold Lee, Mrs Eliot’s nephew, and the housekeeper, Ada Ross, were in league together, and Caroline overheard them plotting to get rid of her, before she found out too much.
