Plot
Gaye Cooper has started to work for Henri Latour, the owner of ” Latour’s Coiffures,” a fashionable and expensive hairdressing salon in Toddington. Gaye’s widowed mother cannot afford to pay the seventy guineas apprenticeship fee, but, thanks to the intervention of an important client, Lady Pleydon, Latour has reluctantly agreed to give Gaye a free apprenticeship.
