The Fashion House Phantom

Plot:

When orphan Aggie Ruddle went to work at the exclusive Edwardian fashion house, The House of Revere, as a menial servant, she hid her natural talent for sewing and design. Unknown to anyone, Aggie altered a dress, resulting in an important new customer for the fashion house. Everyone else believed it to be the work of the Fashion House Phantom.

Daisy Dean Little Beauty Queen

Plot

Daisy Dean, a scruffy but likeable girl, wanted to become  a little beauty queen and she got her chance when she was adopted by Madame Margot, who ran a beauty school for children. Although her father causes some problems.

Village of Revenge

Plot:

In Victorian times, young Jassie Jeavons  inherited a house in Cornwall from a distant relative whom she had never seen, Judge Jeavons. But the villagers of nearby Penpolder had not forgiven Judge Jeavons for his harsh judgements on many of their relatives and accidents began to happen after Jassie was threatened by an old woman called the Grey Gurney who was said to be a witch. Then Jassie engaged a young seamstress, Sal Nancarrow. Sal was brutally attacked while leaving Pendeath Point one night. Sal was wearing Jassie’s cloak and had been mistaken for Jassie.

I’m No Chicken

Plot:

Talented swimmer Cherry Chivers, was mistakenly branded a coward at Clifftops Boarding School, by five members of  D-Dorm and presented with five toy chickens. She was determined to prove five times that she was no chicken. One afternoon she was desperately trying to assist Tina, who had fallen while retrieving matron’s kitten from a tree.

Malicious Molly

Plot:

Molly Woodstock, heiress to  Woodstock Hall, apparently did strange, malicious things which she never remembered afterwards. Then she discovered that her relatives, the Deans, had used a double to discredit her and get the Woodstock estate signed over to them. She switched places with the double, Annie—but the Deans, thinking she was Annie, told her they were going to kill her and use the real Molly in their plans from now on.

Plot

Maisie Woods’ father won a fortune on the football pools—but her parents vowed that the money would not change them in any way. I still was causing lots of problems for Maisie.

Kimi Kami

Plot:

Kimi Kami was sent from Japan to attend Bussfield Boarding  School, in England. Unknown to Kimi, the school had been closed and was now being used by a gang of crooks, one of whom disguised himself as the headmistress, while the others posed as teachers. When a surveyor came to look over the school, Kimi learned that the real Miss Trent was dead. Then she noticed that the fake ‘headmistress’ was wearing men’s socks, and realised that she was being held by a gang of crooks.

The Dog Next Door

Plot

Different stories told each week involving dogs next door each story has a new title. The first story “Old Glen” a dog that takes his neighbours doll, later saves her life. In “The Beach Buddies” a spoilt actress is jealous of her dog co-star.

The Witch’s Brats

Plot:

At the outbreak of the Second World War, Jean Smith and Betty Clark were evacuated along with other children to Witchett End. Jean and Betty were billeted in a rambling old house, the home of a strange old widow, Mrs Meggs, whom the villagers held in awe. When a magpie, whom Mrs Meggs called ‘Jack’, stole Jean’s hair-clip, they, too, wondered if they were surrounded by magic and suspected Mrs Meggs was a witch.
