Plot

Fourteen year old Hilary Andrews lived in the orphanage at the small town of Deanbank. Her grandfather, couldn’t afford to keep her with him at his house but he lived close to the orphanage so they could visit regularly. Hilary loved swimming and diving, and spent almost every minute of her free time at the local swimming baths. She dreamed of being properly trained and getting a place in the Olympic diving team. Unfortunately for Hilary, the new matron, Miss Hussey had taken a dislike to Hilary and stopped her swimming as punishment.
