Voiceless Valley

Plot

Olwen Peters and her classmates were competing as a choir in the Abervale Singing Festival under the leadership of Margaret Tarrant, a young woman who wished the choir to sing her late father’s unpublished music for the first time. The choir had had to practise in secret, as singing was forbidden them by Mrs Pugh, who owned the village and valley of Llanbryn where they lived.
