The Trials of Tabby

Plot

When her father died, Tabby Harper was sent by her Uncle Giles to Greentrees boarding school, where her cousin Merril was also a pupil. At the school. Tabby made an enemy of Charlton, the school groom—who hated her and her mountain pony, Curlew. When Curlew disappeared, Tabby found that he had been sold to a circus. Tabby rescued Curlew, and set out for the only place where he would be safe—the moors round her old home in Larkspring.

Plot

The Rebel School

Plot

In 1745, when Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Highland army were defeated, his supporters in England were punished severely. The girls of Miss Ferguson’s school in Westmorland had made a flag  for Prince Charlie, and Colonel Rawden, the local magistrate, imprisoned Miss Ferguson and demanded £2000 for her release. Anne Latimer, the girls’ leader, was determined to pay the , fine.

Plot

Thirteen-year-old Flora Marchant had been sent to Stonemoore School by her guardian, Silas Slater. Flora soon discovered that the school was a cruel home for poor unwanted children, run by a woman called Mrs Blackley, who was secretly in league with Silas.

Golden Eyes

Plot

Madame Danelli was a greedy woman who trained children to sing and dance for money, so when she discovered that her newest recruit could see into the future, she saw a way to, make her fortune. Tara was a homeless orphan whose eyes glowed with a golden light when she used her gift, and because of this, she had been named Golden Eyes.

Tiny Tim

Plot

Tim, a circus pony, was  accidentally sold while on loan to a friend. He ended up in the hands of scrap merchant Snatcher Smith—and Tim uncovered a rare picture, hidden among junk, that brought wealth to his cruel master. For several days, Snatcher Smith did no work. It, was clear that he intended to enjoy his new-found wealth.

We Belong Together

Plot

In 1859, when four year old Mary Baxter’s little sister, Emmy, was adopted from the orphanage, she took with her their rag doll Dotty, made for them by their mother shortly before her death. Eight years later, street urchin, Mary became scullery maid to the wealthy Boothroyds. She then discovered their daughter Emmeline had a doll just like Dotty and she begin to suspect she was actually her sister.
