Plot:
Kay Hammond was the youngest member of staff at at a famous riding school – The 5 Horse-Shoes. She had proven herself gifted at handling horses so Hector Deane, the owner, had decided to let her try her skill in the show ring.
Kay returns in a sequel (though now with a different surname!) in Kay Hamilton- Show Jumper. She is still the only girl groom at the 5 Horse-Shoes and she wished to train and ride a show-jumper of her own. Against Mr Deane’s wishes she buys with her own money an old champion White Star that had been sold off for slaughter. She tried to prove to Mr Deane that White Star could be a star show-jumper, and he agrees to let her house her at the stable but she will have to pay the same as any other client.
