Plot

Linda Pratt was given a squat-ugly pony for her fourteenth birthday, but she thought him so beautiful that she -called him “Lovely”. When she joined the local Junior Riding Club, the well-to-do girls there looked down on her and Lovely. But when Cora Frost’s thoroughbred pony bolted with her, Linda set out on Lovely across treacherous, boggy ground in an attempt to head her off. Cora would not admit to being saved by Linda and Lovely
