Plot

Karen Morgan and Lynne Parsons were best friends and so were their mums. Then their mothers fell out over a book Mrs Morgan had written and they ordered their daughters to keep away from each other. But the girls were determined to continue their friendship.

Plot:

Thirteen year old Hannah Stanway had started up a horse haven for old and unwanted ponies at her parents farm. She had been tricked into looking after Blaze, a vicious pony, while his owner, Marnie, was away on holiday.

The Good Fairy [1990]

Plot

The Good Fairy programme was the most popular show on Children’s TV. Everyone loved happy, cuddly Aunt Jemima who acted as good fairy and and made all the children’s wishes come true. But it was really her assistant Lynn who did all the work and made the wishes come true, with the help of her colleague Lee.

Nellie Nightingale

Plot:

Nellie Nightingale was a poor orphan who sang for pennies on street corners. She fell into the clutches of Ma Bigsen, who made her believe she had killed someone. Nellie realised with horror that she was being used as a decoy for the evil woman’s gang of pickpockets. But then Nellie was spotted by Lady Millway who saw great potential in Nellie’s voice.

Doctor Fido

Plot:

Thirteen year old Sally Downes lived at Bridge House Children’s Home where she liked helping out with the younger children. When an injured dog wandered into the grounds, Sally took care of him, and he bacame a firm favourite with the children, who named him Doctor Fido.

A different version turns up in a Bunty Picture Story Library book. Nurse Jill Elliot gets a job at Endervale Children’s Home and brings her dog Fido, who she’s owned since he was a pup. The Matron isn’t too happy but the children beg her to let the dog stay and they nickname him Doctor Fido.
