Ma’s Kids

Plot

In 1840, Daisy and Katie Brown are looking for the Swans, friends of their recently deceased mother. They are taken in by Ma Harris who had trained a band of thieves and expected the girls to earn their keep the same way. Daisy managed to earn money by singing but Katie, to young to understand, was becoming an accomplished thief.

Plot

When Sarah Brookes and her family moved to Stoke Haven, Sarah became best friends with Lorna. Then Sonia Dawson, Sarah’s best friend from her old home, moved to the town, too. Sarah wanted the three girls to go around her, but Lorna and Sonia weren’t keen.

Plot

Plot

Keen skater Helen Newton’s partner in an ice-dance competition was an unpleasant, nasty boy, called Ryan Forbes, who Helen disliked intensely. Helen had only agreed to enter the competition with him to please her mother, a former ice-skating champion.

Plot

Sisters, Rosie and Lee Irons and their mates had been trying to stop the council  selling the old building in which their youth club met. Thomasina Battle, the GHOST of one of the family who, years ago had owned the house, was helping the gang.

The Kittens

Plot

Katie Briggs and Catriona Challoner lived very different lives — Katie in a poor part of town with her large, crowded family, and Catriona, an only child, with her parents in their luxurious detached house. Then the girls found a family of young kittens whose mother had been killed. Catriona’s mother disliked animals, and Katie’s small brother was allergic to them, so the kittens had to stay in the shed where they were born, and the girls secretly looked after them, although they didn’t always get along.

Plot
