The Rockhaven Rescuers

Plot

A former pupil of  Rockhaven Village School had left money  to keep the school from being closed on the condition that the pupils formed a local sea and mountain rescue team. Senior girls Kathy Davies and Gwen Jones had been appointed as team leaders.

Simple Simone

Plot:

During the Second World War, Simone, an orphan, arrived in a French village. Because of her innocent, trusting nature, Simone soon became accepted in the village, although many resented her friendliness with the invading Germans.  But Simone was not as simple as she appeared to be and was secretly working with the Resistance.

Susan of Sunnysides / Sue of Starholme

Plot

Susan “Sue” Anderson was an Assistant Housemother at Sunnyside’s Children’s home. It was a job she thoroughly enjoyed, though it could be tiring. Sue returned running her own children’s home Starholme.

  • First appeared as a text story, it had a sequel with a different title.
  • It was later updated into picture story format wit the original title
  • Unusually as well as being in Bunty, it appeared as text story in Mandy (possibly a reprint) under the slightly revised title “Sue of Sunnysides”

Plot:

Five Edgecombe Girls’ School  pupils were stranded in the African jungle after a plane crash. Their tough teacher Miss Hardiman, known as “The Dragon” was determined to lead them to safety.

Plot
