Peggy the Police Girl

Plot

Young Peggy Jones joined the police force as a Police Girl Cadet. She was sent to the village of Melrick, where she took up lodgings’ with the village policeman, Constable Gregson, and his wife. Lady Merlick is not sure she is up for the job, but Peggy impresses her, when she stops a purse snatcher that had taken Lady Merlick’s bag.

Penny the Post

Plot

Young Penny Hughes lives with her  grandparents in the small welsh village of Llangower. Her grandfather is postman and, when he becomes ill, Penny sacrifices her chance to go to university so that she can take over the job as postman until he is well again, thus keeping the job open for him.

Bella the Babysitter

Plot

Bella Brown took up babysitting to earn money for a family holiday. She soon found there was more to the job than she expected!

Jo and Jeannie

Plot

On Jo Dentry’s first day working at a store, Gladstone and Peebles, she found an old Victorian telephone. When she lifted the ear piece the ghost of Jeannie May materialized. Jeannie a cheeky cockney had worked in the store when it first opened 1837 and she promised to help Jo all she could.

The Slave Girls

Plot

In order to earn extra money, Suzanne and Sandy Miller advertise themselves as slave girls (complete with Roman costume) who work for a small payment. Each job always seems to give the girls some additional problem to solve.
