Lucy of the Lake

Plot

Stradway Mere was a long, boomerang-shaped lake in the valley which Lucy Langham knew and loved so well because of her skin-diving explorations of it.  The beautiful lake was in grave danger of being drained and filled in to make way for a new motorway. In her fight to prevent this happening, Lucy had, so far, won two allies. One was Miss Amelia Trouncer, a naturalist. The second was Peter Hoskinson, the world-famous ornithologist.
