The Courage of Pat Piper

Plot

When the German Army over ran Holland in 1940, the Germans began an intensive search for fourteen- year-old Pat Piper. Inside her belt, Pat was carrying a secret formula which the Germans desperately wanted. Pat’s mission was to take the formula to London, and on her travels she took some refugee children into her care. In Antwerp, the children were given a horse, Dapple, and a caravan with instructions to go to Paris where they would he helped on their journey to England. On the road to Paris, Pat overheard plans to capture and kill Dapple and she decided that they would have to leave him behind in the hope that he would find a good home.

Yum-Yum in Search of her Sister

Plot

Yum-Yum Tang, a little Japanese girl, came to  England to meet her sister, Kimi, star of an Ice Show run by Mr Tenjo. Mr Tenjo told Yum-Yum that Kimi had died in a fire, but Yum-Yum knew this was not true as she found two messages from Kimi, one of which warned her that Mr Tenjo was dangerous. In an effort to find her sister, Yum-Yum followed the skating company to Tidesea.

A Pop Group Called Pippa

Plot

Fourteen year old Pippa Hendrix was looking for her grandfather, an entertainer. He had vanished after a street accident and the Children’s Officer planned to put Pippa in a Home. Pippa was convinced her grandfather had lost his memory and that he was visiting seaside towns he played in long ago. So Pippa packed up her one-man band kit, and with the aid of Grandfather’s scrapbook she set off to find him.

Jackie and Jill [1976]

Plot

Jackie Jarvis was searching for her twin sister, Jill, the girls had been parted when they were adopted by separate families when they were babies. Jackie’s only link to her twin was a silver Gemini medallion which seemed to have the strange power of making her dream about Jill.

Sarah’s Search

Plot

Sarah Grey’s father was lost at sea after a cliff-top car crash. but Sarah was convinced that he was still alive. Strange messages flashed into her mind, seeming to come from him. While Sarah followed these clues, her Uncle Bert and Aunt Winnie were close behind. Sarah had lived with them after the accident, and they planned to make a lot of money from her strange mental powers.

The Search for the Singing Boxes

Plot

Emily Dixon had led a spoilt, sheltered life in the Victorian home of her Grandfather, a  retired toymaker. But when her Grandfather died, Emily discovered that all he had left her was a collection of musical boxes, hidden in various places. Emily set out with her maid, Dora Jones, to recover the boxes.

The Great Big World of Minnie Hopper

Plot

Whem fourteen-year-old Minnie Hopper accidentally spoiled the Wambashi African Dancers’ stage act, Banshena, the troupe’s witch doctor, put a spell on Minnie. Banshena’s spell made Minnie shrink to a height of only nine inches! Minnie followed the troupe to ask Banshena to reverse the spell, but when the life of one of the dancers was threatened, they went into hiding at a secret address.

The Pride of Penrhos

Plot

When Welsh cattle drover David Penrhos was injured, his two children, Nan and Gwyn, took over the task of driving his fine cattle to the Michelmas Fair in London. But they had an evil rival, Black Dylan, whose campaign against them grew daily more savage. He’d even tried to stampede his own huge herd, and trample the two youngsters underfoot.
