The Kids of Grim Hall

Plot:

In the year 1851, life was hard for the kids of Grimshaw Orphanage, know to them as Grim Hall.  Alice Hawkins and three of her friends had escaped and gone to London, hoping to tell Queen Victoria of their plight.

Beggars’ Academy

Plot:

Orphan Sarah Blane was sure she had found her long lost sister, Martha, working for a mysterious woman called ‘The Duchess’ who ran a school for beggars. Sarah was determined to win the girl’s confidence and affection, so that they could be reunited and live together with Sarah’s guardians. Sarah joins the academy  in the hopes of getting close to ‘Martha’.

The Great Victoria

Plot:

Jan  and Paula discover a girl Victoria Bates preserved in ice, in a Victorian mansion. Victoria believes she is still in the 19th century and want the girls to help find her younger sister Meg.

The Sweet Voice of Candy Kydd / The Strange Quest of Candy Kydd

Plot:

Candy Kydd is becoming famous for her singing voice, which doesn’t  please her jealous stepmother Kaye. Later she wins a scholarship for training in Italy, which leads her on a quest to find her mother she previously thought was dead.

Last of the Pekes

Plot:

In 1860 China was at war with Britain and France. The Royal Palace at Peking was looted and nearly all the Sacred Dogs were killed except one that was saved by Linyi, Servant of the Dogs. Linyi sets off with the Sacred Dog to meet with her Great Uncle (an abbot of Lamasery) in Tibet.

One Shall Be Queen

Plot:

Podge  and her twin sister Janet are brought from England, to the Island of Lamona, in the South Seas, where one of them will be crowned Queen of the Island. Podge is convinced their mother who was lost at seas years ago is alive and on the island.

Cinderella of the Orphanage

Plot:

Cindy Winters has grown up in Oldbank Orphanage, she is a great help with the younger kids at the orphanage. When  she is old enough she is given the letter and a photograph that her mother left with her as a baby. The photo is of 4 young girls in costumes and this is the starting point for Cindy to try and track down her mother.

Where Is Beth’s Brother?

Plot:

In Victorian England, Beth an orphan, searches for her brother, that she just recently found out existed, the only clue she has to help with her search is that her little brother is a chimney sweep.
