Karin for Queen

Plot

Queen Helena of Ravia rarely appears in public because of her shyness. So the nobles, led by Baron de Guise, want to put Helena’s cousin Prince Hugo on the throne, deeming him a better ruler.  Bess, the Queen’s old nurse, tries to outwit the Baron by training a wandering player, Karin, to take the Queen’s place. Prince Hugo agrees to this, but the Baron  is determined to stop the Queen from being crowned, and it may only be a matter of time before he discovers Karin.

The Scarlet Scarab

Plot:

Princess Ayu, the only daughter of the  King of Ofalia, a small Arab state, comes to stay with twins Kathy and Kim Russell and their mother to escape from her enemies. While visiting the carnival one day, Kim is so engrossed in winning a piglet that she doesn’t realise until too late that Ayu has vanished.

Plot:

When Princess Veraskaya  became a pupil at Ashfield High School, she chummed up with Elsie Small.  But being a Princess’s friend was not easy, as Elsie found out when Vera began imitating the antics of her grandmother, a pupil at Ashfield years before.

Plot:

Carla Gale, a young chimney sweep, lived in Loravia. She overheard General Krill plotting to kill the young King, Simon the sixth, so she hid the boy in her cottage.  Then Carla discovered that General Krill had employed a boy to take the King’s place – and he was an  exact double of King Simon.

Ragamuffin Queen

Plot:

Nina a twelve year old urchin who spent her time poaching in the royal forest of Marvonia, was now the most important person in the kingdom. The young child-queen, Marion, who was the image of Nina, had been abducted and in order to prevent a revolution, the Prime Minister had asked Nina to take the queen’s place  and undergo a thorough grooming.  Though reluctant, Nina agreed to help her country.

Queen For a Month

Plot:

The timid Princess Zonia was to become Queen of Mervania in a month. Her guardian, Duchess Tania, knew Zonia lacked the confidence to fulfil the strenuous programme which lay ahead of the coronation. However Tania gets an idea when she meets Shirley Fitzpatrick, an English circus girl with a sparkling personality and an exact double for Zonia. She asks Shirley to stand in for the princess until the coronation.

Just Call Me Kate!

Plot:

Princess Katherine of Estelstein was a new pupil at the Highdene School for Girls. But she didn’t stand on ceremony and asked the other pupils to call her Kate. However, her prim lady-in-waiting Prunella Smith-Smythe was determined the princess be treated royally. She took her job so seriously, she even joined Kate in the classroom.

Her Hideaway Highness

Plot:

Pat Fraser was acting as groom for her sister, Brenda an international show-jumper, while she was on tour in Tarlania. During the tour, the dethroned King asked Pat to smuggle his daughter out of the country. Although disguised as another groom called Sara, snooty Princess Saria did no work to help Pat.
