Plot

In Victorian Times Betsy Frye has to become breadwinner for her mother and younger siblings after her Captain father’s ship was lost at sea. Betsy love cooking and treasured an old cookery book, but she was young and inexperienced so could only get a position as scullery maid in the Imperial Hotel London. There she was mistreated by the cook and her sly cruel husband, Grimes.
