Vanessa’s Voice

Plot

Vanessa Vane, who lived in Virtorian times, was struck dumb after seeing her parents killed in a street accident. A Dr Forbes discovered he could restore her voice by hypnotism and planned to grow rich from her singing talent. Vanessa made many attempts to escape, but, each time she failed.

Living a Lie

Plot

After a coach crash, orphan Barbara Morley was mistaken for Karena Barlow, who had died in the accident. Barbara, who was unwanted by her true aunt, kept up the pretence of being Karena  when she was taken to live with Karena’s wealthy aunt Sylvia and uncle Bob. Barbara was about to them the truth when Aunt Sylvia took ill and she didn’t want the shock to worsen her condition.

Vote for Vera

Plot

Vera Halpin, a member of the suffragette movement, fighting for votes for women in the 1900s, was dismissed from her job as a maid in the home of Sir Giles Pansonby M.P. She had taken a job in a sweat-shop factory, where women worked long hours in terrible conditions for meager wages, which also happened to be owned by Sir Giles. Vera was determined to get better quality of life for the women working there.

Remember Rhoda

Plot

Jackie Hunter had moved to a school once attended by her now dead sister Rhoda, who had been so popular and talented that everyone expected Jackie to do just as well. But Rena Winters had discovered that Roda was not all she seemed and was making life difficult for Jackie.

Sharon

Plot

Sharon Best was a new member of the successful Mordene School Hockey team, whose couch Dilys Hobb was in line the coach the England team. Years before Sharon’s Aunt Kath Beaton had her knee broken by Dilys in a hockey game accident and thus lost her chance to play for England. She had trained Sharon to take revenge for her.

Plot

Madcap Fiona Bailey, who is under contract to an advertising company to play the part of Polly Pender in a series of commercials for Pender’s  Pure Products, could lose the job immediately if she attracted in bad publicity. Penny, Fiona’s sister had the thankless job of trying to keep Fiona under control.

Red Mask

Plot

On her way home at the end of term at her ballet school, wealthy spoiled Delia Rogers took part in a disco dancing competition, wearing a dramatic red mask to hide her identity. In an accident following the competition Delia ad lost her memory and was taken in by ruthless George and Alice Keever who pretended that they were helping her to escape from police while making money off her dancing.
