Runaway Wanda

Plot

Wanda Carlsson, a pupil at a Danish ballet school, vowed never to dance again after a dancing accident which she wrongly believed had crippled her friend, Ingrid Larsson. When she took a job in London as an au pair girl with the Bentley family, Mr Bentley found out her secret, and by telling her that Ingrid had died, forced her into agreeing to dance in a ballet contest to win publicity for his wife’s failing ballet school. He took her to see “Swan Lake”, where she met her former ballet mistress, Miss Eriksson, now, on holiday in London. Panic-stricken, Wanda fled from the theatre.

Mary Brown is Missing!

Plot

Fifteen- year – old Mary Brown had run away from her home in Galston. After staying for a time in Newsea she had to run again when her photograph appeared in a newspaper and the police began searching for her.

The Midgees

Plot

Everything started to go wrong for Stella Stacey the moment a spaceship, manned by “Midgees”, crash-landed on her bedroom ceiling and stuck there in place of her bedroom lamp. Stella tried to keep the Midgees a secret from her parents while the little aliens repaired their spaceship.

The Ghost of Manderlay

Plot

When Sir James Ambrose returned from fighting against Napeleon in 1815, he brought home a beautiful Arabian stallion, Ziree. His daughter Jenny and Ziree became deeply attached to each other and Ziree lost his life saving her. He was buried on the grounds of Manderley. Now if any danger threatened Manderlay or one of the Ambrose family descendants, Ziree returned.

Terror of the Tennis Courts

Plot

Young Tennis Star Leila Broome had been compared to her dead stepmother, Alma Drew who had been a tennis champion and called the smiling star because she was so pleasant. Then outbreaks of vandalism during tournaments that Leila took part start happening, that upset Leila off the court as well and her fathers apparent hatred for the game made matters worse. Leila’s best friend Lynne, suspected a silver charm once belonging to Alma that Leila had started wearing, was having a strange effect on her. Some further investigation finds that Alma was not as sweet as everyone thought.

Last of the Cheviots

Plot

Cassy Lee a young gipsy was the double of Lisa Cheviot who had drowned in an accident. Lisa’s grandfather Lucas refused to accept she was dead and relatives of his, Liz and Bernie Fraser, persuaded Cassy to take Lisa place telling her and the servants that it was for Lucas’ peace of mind. But Cassy soon found out the Frasers were after his money and  she also discovered a portrait of Lady Mildred one of the Cheviots ancestors had an evil power over her and was using her to try and destroy the House of Cheviot.

The Cat Princess

Plot

Nofret, a princess from ancient Egypt, was training to be a priestess, was searching for the sacred golden statuette of Pasht the Cat Goddess, which was stolen while she was on duty in the temple.  She was cursed to not return until she found it, she had the ability to turn herself into a cat, and was also able to travel through time and space in order to find it.

In present time, Carol and Peggy Baker who were on a cycling holiday were helping Nofret and the girls believed the statuette was with any of 8 people on a list given to them by Westcester museum.
