Hunted!

Plot

Life had been very pleasant for Gwen Parsons. Employed as a young scullery maid in the grand household of Greystone Grange, she had been almost like a member of the family, and was even allowed to play with Master Timmy, the baby son of her employers, Lord and Lady Felton. One night there was a terrible fire and Gwen found herself fleeing from unknown enemies with the baby.

One Girl and her Dog [1983]

Plot

A peaceful loch-side had been horrifically interrupted when mysterious killers staged an “accident”, from which the only survivors were a girl who had lost her memory and the dog she relied on to protect her. Now the girl and her dog were walking down a shadowy street in a northern city.

Hands Off Little Hannah!

Plot

When Hannah Barlow witnesses a gangland murder in Bogwood, the two killers, try to stop her from identifying them. Hannah goes on the run, helped by Bella Berring whose father is a bargee taking a cargo to London. Ashore, on the way, the two girls narrowly escape death when one of the crooks rolls a large stone down on them. After a chose, the girls reach the safety of the “Canal Carrier”, where Mr. Berring is waiting for them.

Gwen Save the King

Plot

Gwen Forrest and her brother, Rob, live in England at the time of the Crusades. One night, Rob overhears four men plotting to kill the King of  England when he returns from the battles in the Holy Land. Rob is discovered, and a blow from a sword blinds the boy as he makes his escape. The children set out to warn the King on his arrival at Dover, pursued by one of the assassins, Gorot, a hunchback, who rides off on a pony he finds in the forest. He does not know that the children hove been ti using the pony on their journey.

Danger Doll

Plot

One evening when Jemma Johnson was babysitting Caroline a young girl, they got an unexpected visitor, a doll! Later there was a mysterious fire and Caroline and the doll disappeared. At first Jemma was blamed but when other children went missing, Jemma was asked to help solve the mystery.

Circus Susie

Plot:

After the sudden death of her father, Susie Nelson took over the running of  Nelson’s Super Circus. The young girl was in danger from Ferro, the strongman, who had always wanted to own the circus and planned to get rid of her.  Luckily Susie also had a friend looking out for,  Carlo the clown.

The Girl They Left Behind

Plot

Joan Bryant, daughter of the Head of the British Consulate to Cambada in South East Asia, had been accidentally left behind when the consulate staff had evacuated. The Royal family were all thought to be killed but Joan had been asked by the Royal nursemaid to get young Prince Chula to safety.
