Sandie’s Sondbirds

Plot

Alexandra Peak —better ‘known as folk singer Sandie Abigail—was suspended from her music-teaching post at St. Bride’s College, Camford, by the disapproving Headmistress, Dr Errol.  But the Songbirds–Julie, Astrid, Toni and Brenda—a folk-singing quartet of pupils trained by Sandie, were doing their utmost to get Sandie back to St. Bride’s.

Miss England’s Ugly Duckling

Plot

Miss Carol England was Class III’s new teacher at run-down Grime Street School in Graymill and was to be Graymill’s next Carnival Queen. To every-body’s surprise, under Miss England’s guidance, plain little Polly Meek won through the first and second rounds of  a contest to find a Carnival Princess. Unfortunately, though, Polly’s grasping aunt, with whom she lived, began taking an unwelcome interest in Polly’s success, thinking that there might be money to be made out of it.

Plot

Plot

The world was at the mercy of the Dangerweed, a deadly fungi which caused terrible destruction. The only hope of overpowering the plague lay in a formula devised by Professor Radlett, After he had been caught by the weed, his three children, Nina, Judy and Jamey, began the long and dangerous journey to deliver the formula to London.

The S.O.S. Girls

Plot

Cheryl Mason and Barbara Blake, the sixteen-year-old daughters of wealthy industrialists, are on holiday from their expensive boarding school in France. They are very bored until they decide to help someone out with  setting up a party in secret. They decide to continue help out people in secret if they hear of anyone needs help.

Polly for President

Plot

Miss Baggott a snobbish teacher at Greystones School, wants the Honourable Daphne Coote to be elected President (as the school captain is called) and arranges for Polly Rogers, a quiet, studious girl, to be the other candidate. Miss Baggott is sure Polly won’t be elected, but Tess Hardy, Polly’s lively friend, starts a brisk election campaign.

A Girl Called Halliplunk

Plot

Jessie Halliplunk, a coalman’s daughter, is being educated at a famous girls’ school at the wish of a distant wealthy relative, Lord Halliope-Plunkett. At first, Jessie does not fit in too well, but after proving to be a first – class rider, she wins the girls approval—except for Cynthia, the former riding champion! Cynthia sends a telegram on the day of the riding championship final that sends Jessie hurrying home, thinking her father is ill.
