Best Friend’s Boy

Plot

Alison MacDonald was horrified when her best friend, Meg Sinclair, started to date Brent Adams a new boy at school. Brent was very good looking and could be charming, but Alison knew of him previously from her old school. Underneath he was a nasty piece of work, however it was proving impossible to convince Meg of this.

Plot

Wilma Simpson was a shy girl and her parents sent her to Windrush school in the hopes that she would gain self confidence there. Wilma found life at the school hard but she made a friend in Lorne, a wild girl who lived on the nearby moors.

Cressie on Cruise

Plot

A school cruise excites her other classmates but Cressie Collins is apprehensive. Her friends help her get over her homesickness but not everything goes smoothly on the cruise. Cressie can cause problems by being impulsive luckily her friend May Hatton who was more sensitive, helps her gets out of tricky situations.

No Friends for Fran

Plot

Sally Lenton had just moved to the village of Hollybrook. Whilst exploring, she went to the grounds of Denby house and spotted an unhappy girl at the window. She found out the girl was Fran Halliday and her mother kept her a prisoner because she was afraid Fran may catch a dreadful disease and die like her elder sister did. Mrs Halliday agreed Sally could be friends with Fran on the condition she could not ever leave Denby house, as she didn’t want her to bring any germs in. With the help of Mrs Gill the housekeeper, Sally sneaks back to her mother and with her agreement, she goes back to Fran to stay for the school holidays.

Plot
