Polly for President

Plot

Miss Baggott a snobbish teacher at Greystones School, wants the Honourable Daphne Coote to be elected President (as the school captain is called) and arranges for Polly Rogers, a quiet, studious girl, to be the other candidate. Miss Baggott is sure Polly won’t be elected, but Tess Hardy, Polly’s lively friend, starts a brisk election campaign.

The Gipsy at Queen’s

Plot

Gipsy Anita Sancho came to Queens Lea College with her pet chimp Pepe to claim privileges granted by her ancestor. Anita insted she had the right to bed, board and education but she could hardly read or write. Dismissed by the headmistress Anita swore she would teach herself, while staff tried to get rid of her.

The Day the Staff Walked Out

Plot

The girls at Pringle’s Private School are all daughters of wealthy parents. Not one of them has any interest in school work and their laziness has caused them to be expelled from one school after another. They should have been expelled from Pringle’s as well, but the Headmistress thinks it will be better if the staff leave instead. By arranging seemingly innocent incidents, she is teaching them to take care of themselves.

Stacey’s First Term / Haunted by the Past!

Plot

It was Stacey Moores first term at her new boarding school St Mead’s.  Without meaning to  Stacey had given the impression that Phillipa Gray, a famous actress, was her aunt. She was finding it hard to own up to the truth.

Stacey and her new friends, Diane and Jill, return in a sequel, Haunted by the Past! They were trying to help a ghost who she was wrongly accused of stealing a jewel.

Rambling Rose [1989]

Plot

Clapton College needs more pupils. Head girl Di Gibson decides newcomer Rose Redd could bring the school valuable publicity because she is brainy and a natural athlete. The trouble is, Rose has a rather absent-minded way of doing things!

The Girl in the Blazer

Plot

When Kim Clark became a pupil at her Mum’s old school, Mrs Clark proudly produced her old school blazer for her to wear. Realising how much this meant to her mum, Kim decided not to tell her that Gorford Grammar was now a comprehensive where uniform wasn’t worn, of course this made her stand-out in the school.

That Boy Ben

Plot 

Half way through term a new boy, Ben Street, joined Sue Hardy’s class. He was rude and aggressive to everybody but he had rescued Sue’s puppy from the river and she felt obliged to try and help him and be friends with him.
