The Curse of Carlos

Plot

When a Spanish ship  was lured on to the rocks a curse was placed on anyone who tried to steal the gold she carried! Years later, Joan’s sister, Maggy, dived with three Americans to recover the gold, but two of the party were drowned. Joan and the other American, Tim, returned but Maggy remained unconscious and icy cold!. The daughter of Juan Carlos then appeared to Joan in a dream and told her that her sister wouldn’t recover until the gold was returned to the wreck. So Joan followed Tim, who had the gold coins, to London, where she discovered that Tim had been mugged and the coins stolen!

Mystery at Great Tor

Plot

During the war Rita Cooper and her brother Rolly were among the school children evacuated from London. They were sent to Great Tor a forbidding old mansion in Cornwall. While staying there the youngsters discovered that the domestic staff had a hoard of stolen treasure hidden in a cave under the house.

Viking Gold

Plot:

Professor Mary Frost, Judy Newcome and her friend, Ann, have discovered a sunken Viking ship. But when they bring up gold treasure, crooks trap them and steal it. Ann tries to help, but the crooks pretend she has escaped from a mental home and kidnap her from under the very noses of the local police.

Treasure of the Tiger

Plot:

Professor Kaplan is asked by the Government  of Corococo, a small, independent Indian state in South America, to try to locate the Treasure of the Tiger. The “Tiger” was a chief of the Corococans who robbed the invading Spanish conquistadors of much treasure. John Short leads the expedition and he takes with him his daughter, Tina, and son, Bill. John Short’s assistant, Andrew Roth, also goes on the journey. The adventurers meet up with a hostile Indian tribe and the bearers and guides run away. But when one of the tribe falls in a fast-flowing river, Tina and Bill go at once to his rescue.

The Courage of Kim

Plot:

Kim Dale has the task of retaining Yeoman’s Isle, her family’s home, by swimming round it in accordance with the conditions of a 12th-century charter, although she is suffering from an ever-increasing paralysis which she fears will immobilise her. Kim has discovered that the present landlord, the Mayor, knows of treasure on the island and is trying to force the Dales to leave. She, her brother, Dick, and her friend, Sally, try to find the treasure in a secret cave, but lose their boat in an avalanche. When two of the Mayor’s men come to the cave, Kim, Dick and Sally try to escape in their boat
