Pam the Peacemaker

Plot

Pam was the daughter of George and Mary Holmes the TV husband and wife team known to millions as the “’Happy Holmes’ As they always argued Pam had the keep the peace between them so cameras didn’t see. She as her work cut out for her when the Teletopper TV company decided to do a travel holiday series featuring the Happy Holmes.

A Star Chance for Laddie

Plot

Rosemary Harris loved her dog Laddie, but when her mother was given a new flat, Laddie had to go. So Rosemary was delighted when he was offered a part in a TV series. But the star of the series, Jackie Lane, did not like Laddie or Rosemary and decided to get rid of them if she could.

The Good Fairy [1990]

Plot

The Good Fairy programme was the most popular show on Children’s TV. Everyone loved happy, cuddly Aunt Jemima who acted as good fairy and and made all the children’s wishes come true. But it was really her assistant Lynn who did all the work and made the wishes come true, with the help of her colleague Lee.

Plot:

Sarah Lane and Jane Wood had been given the parts of sisters in a weekly TV period drama, as grandchildren of the Earl of Dunlea. Unfortunately  while they played loving sisters in front of the camera, in real life the girls had taken a bitter dislike to each other.

The Sadness of Happy Jones

Plot

Life was hard for orphan Hazel Jones. Living with her Uncle Paul and Aunt Ena, Hazel was to do all the housework for her Aunt, who pretended to be an invalid. Hazel knew only one-way to keep her spirits up—by singing. Her greedy Uncle Paul realised there was money to be made from Hazel’s voice, and entered her for a television talent contest. Hazel quickly became a star, and was nicknamed ‘ Happy ‘, but the happiness was not real.
