Fame

Plot

Stories based on the tv series Fame, which follows a group of students New York, performing arts school. The stories usually centered around one student at a time, Coco and Leroy seemed to be most popular characters to get stories. In one story Coco, a dancer, has her lucky charm taken, she finds the suspect but it wasn’t stolen for the reason she thinks. In another episode, Leroy introduces the class to break dancing.

Based on the [1980] film and tv show of the same name, that ran from 1982-1987
The story was one of the additions from Tops merger with Suzy.
It didn’t appear in every episode as a picture story, instead sometimes it was replaced with a feature about Fame.

Weighty Katie [1978]

Plot:

Stella Martin is living with her Aunt Cynthia, an unscrupulous theatre agent, while her mother is ill and her father works away from home. Stella is a talented actress and wants to go into the theatre. But Aunt Cynthia forces her into starring in TV commercials as a child actress. To this end Aunt Cynthia forces Stella into a childish appearance, deliberately underfeeds her to stunt her growth, keeps her away from school, and Stella has to do housework as well.

Stage School

Plot:

Two vacancies are going at The Madame Celeste Stage School. Nicky Carr wins one place. But the other place goes to Gavin Mellor, an arrogant boy Nicky crossed during the auditions. And so the stage is set for feuding between Nicky and Gavin.

It gets even worse when Gavin and Nicky are both chosen to star in a new TV soap. They have to pretend they are friends on screen, but their hatred keeps erupting into constant fighting. Eventually, the producers write their antagonism into the show.
